The 8th annual Lone Star Luau happens once again March 27-30th at the Margaritaville Lake Resort in Montgomery, Texas.
Started by hit songwriters Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe, Lone Star Luau is a music festival that includes singer songwriters, Texas music acts, Beach Country and Trop Rock musicians.
This year's headliners are Django Walker and Jesse Rice. Django is the son of the legendary Jerry Jeff Walker, and his songs have been recorded by Pat Green and Jimmy Buffett. Jesse Rice wrote the multi-platinum selling song “Cruise” with Florida Georgia Line and has produced 6 albums called “The Pirate Sessions” that highlight his love for country music with a tropical twist. Jesse is making a rare full band appearance with his group The Americaribbeans.
Other featured acts are Trop Rock Music Association Entertainer of the Year Sunny Jim and multiple TRMA award winners Donny Brewer, Erica Sunshine Lee, John Patti, Aaron Scherz and Eric Erdman.
This year's festivities will include an appearance by Tex the longhorn, and a live chainsaw carving by musician and artist Doug Moreland.
Lone Star Luau also raises money for two charity organizations, Red Guitar Campaign and Operation Song. The Red Guitar Campaign donates guitars to Fisher Houses, an organization that provides free lodging for military and their families when they are in the hospital, and Operation Song pairs songwriters with veterans to turn their personal stories into songs.
